EVENT SUMMARY : A three-day educational course program, organised by the Panhellenic Association of Hospital Pharmacists (PEFNI) and the Lab of Pharmacology, Dept of Pharmacy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Curriculum (programme in Greek available on demand): TOPIC and TUTOR: Molecular biotechnology (1 hour), A.S. TSIFTSOGLOU. Protein drugs and recombinant proteins (2 hours), L. PAPADOPOULOU. Production, Formulation, route of administration and PK/PD of biopharmaceuticals (3 hours), P. DEDES. Clinical Immunology, Drug design and Monoclonal antibodies (2 hours), I. PAPPAS and L. PAPADOPOULOU. Safety: Incompatibilities, Interactions, Immugenicity, Pharmacovigilance (1 hour), I. VIZIRIANAKIS. Clinical trials (1 hour), A.S. TSIFTSOGLOU. Biosimilars (1 hour), A.S. TSIFTSOGLOU. Handling in the pharmacy (1 hour), D. GENNIMATA. Risk management programmes (1 hour), Z. DEDE. Biopharmaceutical summit challenge (3 hours) ALL TUTORS and 4 GROUPS OF TRAINEES. Dossier including all presentations and faculty CVs in print and a copy of the Malta CD was distributed to the participants. A CD including all Corfu presentations is being prepared, in order to be distributed. EDUCATIONAL IMPACT (Questionnaire in Greek and Challenge Description available on demand): The educational impact was estimated by A) asking participants to answer 43 relative to the course questions (EurAHP QUESTIONNAIRE) before and after the seminar and B) participating in the challenge (scenario and list of evaluation criteria, in relation to the challenge are available on demand). Improvement in correct responses to the basic level questions was 30%, in those of the intermediate level was 28% and in those of the advanced level was 17%. Regarding the Educational Challenge evaluation outcome, all four groups managed to show active participation of members and search of relative information on the topic assigned to them. Two of the four groups prepared questions in 6 out of the 7 aspects, concerning biopharmaceuticals, that were set as criteria. DELEGATES' EVALUATION OF SEMINAR (questionnaires in Greek available on demand): All four (4) sessions (Wednesday evening, Thursday morning, Thursday evening, and Friday morning) and the entire course were evaluated, using the EurAHP evaluation templates. The majority of the trainees (95%) agreed on all statements concerning the entire course, among which 60-80% of trainees strongly agreed. Evaluation of each of the 13 presentations and the Educational Challenge portrayed agreement in all statements, in 80-95% of trainees. Evaluation data are available on demand.
