Welcome to EAHP

The Academy Summit is the highest level of educational event offered by the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP). With 22,000 members in 31 countries, EAHP has set up the academy summit to offer European hospital pharmacists:

• A pan-European system of continuing medical education (CME) accreditation
• Accredited modular courses for hospital pharmacists in four key areas (the BEAM initiative):
  • Biotechnology
  • Evidence-based medicine
  • Aspects of compounding
  • Management

Why are we doing this?

Important issues need addressing in the continuing education of hospital pharmacists in Europe. In particular the profession needs to establish a mechanism for accrediting and standardising continuing medical education at a national and pan-European level in order to assure standards of quality. The Academy Summit will provide a framework for this by which:

• Continuing medical education initiatives for hospital pharmacists can be accredited by a recognised pan-European institution
• Future national CME initiatives can be benchmarked
